Welcome to the 8th Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA)

For 8 years, KOFFIA has been loved by many Australian lovers of cinema and we have no doubt that the support will continue to grow in 2017.

This year, we will be expanding to Hobart and Darwin adding two more cities to our roster. This finally marks our presence in all 8 states of Australia making Korean films more accessible than ever down under.

Including a retrospective of one of the top directors of Hallyuwood, Jee-woon Kim, this year’s festival will showcase 30 of the most innovative cinematic feats to grace the big screen. There is action, romance, art and thrills for everyone and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

KOFFIA is supported by the Commonwealth through the Australia-Korea Foundation, which is part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The support we receive from our many friends in Australia goes to show that in 8 years we have instated our festival as an integral part of the Australian event scene and on this point, will continue to make our contribution to the vast array of cultures that make-up the Australian community.

There is no greater embodiment of culture than film and we believe that we can all laugh, cry and enjoy the universal ideas and emotions brimming from our films this year.

Here’s to another great year for KOFFIA!
