As we come to the close of the 2011 Korean Film Festival in Australia, we aim to send our guests off with a new found passion for Korean cinema. KOFFIA 2011 was extra special for KOFFIA since it has expanded its’ territory to the city of Melbourne as we visit our Melbourne friends. We hope your short journey with Korean films has been a wonderful experience, and we will have a closing ceremony to wrap up the festival for Sydney and Melbourne respectively.
We will have our closing ceremony speeches and thankyou’s, acknowledging the support of those that worked so hard to make KOFFIA 2011. We are delightful to thank those sponsors who have supported us again this year, as well as those we have developed new partnerships with. We will screen some of the best moments of the festival, including Hungry for Talks and our captured voxpops.
Sydney Closing Night - A Barefoot Dream, Korea’s official submission for the Oscars in 2010, this inspiring true story is the perfect way to close Sydney KOFFIA 2011. We have partnered with
Child Fund Australia to raise awareness of the importance of giving opportunities to young children in poorer communities, and we hope this uplifting story will leave you on a high for KOFFIA 2012!
Melbourne Closing Night - Shim’s Family, an extra special film for KOFFIA 2011 in this Australia Korea Year of Friendship 2011. Directed by AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School) graduate Jeong Yoon-chul, the film reveals the skeletons that all families keep in their closets. A great piece of family fun will close the 1st ever Melbourne KOFFIA. Come along and enjoy!
We invite you to be a part of this event and hope that we have successfully entertained our Australian audiences with the magnificence of Korean cinema and to the wonders of Korean culture.
We hope to see you again in KOFFIA 2012!!
