Jaegi Competition and K-Pop Fan Wall

The best SCHOOL EXCURSION EVER! Come along for a fun jaegi competition and kpop fan wall to win prizes and have fun! Students will both have an enjoyable time and be educated about the traditions of Korea at the same time. Activity sheets will also be provided to students to coincide with the screening of ‘Bunt’ on August 25th.

Bloody Friday (Best Dressed Horror)

Along with the Korean version of Pulp Fiction, “No Blood No Tears” and bloody slasher movie, “Bedevilled”, we have best horror dress-up competition with bloody sur-PRIZE!!!
Enjoy bloody Friday with KOFFIA 2011 on 26th August at Dendy opera quays. SPOOKY!!

Traditional Dance

Vibrant and colourful Korean traditional dancers will decorate beautiful Saturday afternoon at opera quays! It is the best chance to see a variety of Korean traditional dance at one spot!
Your Saturday will be fulfilled with beautiful Korean traditional dance and it will be continued to an indie documentary movie, “Earth’s Women”, which depicts the beauty of Korean countryside.

K-pop flash mob

The burst of K-POP will fire up Dendy opera quays on Sunday with world-hit Korean POP MUSIC and DANCE! It is a precursor of the BIG K-POP concert which will be held at ANZ Stadium in November 12th this year!

Jaegi Demonstration

Jaegi is a Korean traditional playing object, which people kick and juggle with their feet like a hacky sack. Have a hand on experience to make a Jaegi (It just takes 5 mins to make it. EASY!), and just have fun playing with it. Jaegi is a beautiful and colourful traditional souvenir from KOFFIA!!

KOFFIA 2011 will welcome all of you and announce the arrival of KOFFIA for the first time in Melbourne with Korean traditional music and dance. Melbourne based Korean culture club, SORI will provide you the sound of Korean tradition music and the beauty of dance with colourful costume. Performing in Fed Square, we hope it will be the best Korean traditional performance ever in Melbourne!!

The sound of Gayageum, Korean traditional string instrument like a long zither, will fulfil your ears on peaceful Sunday afternoon at the ACMI foyer. It would be very rare chance to listen to playing Gayageum in Melbourne, so it would be a good opportunity to experience authentic Korean traditional Music!

Hany Lee

An Australian born Korean rising star, Hany Lee (singer songwriter) will perform at KOFFIA 2011. After her first performance at KOFFIA 2010 in Sydney, we are honourably able to have her again in her hometown Melbourne. Enjoy music and movie at the same time on Monday evening at ACMI as we mark the Korean Holiday Chuseok!
