A naïve woman is hired by a wealthy bourgeois family as a housemaid, and soon all hell breaks loose.

The Housemaid is a slick satire on the class system. From sumptuous production design to operatic cinematography, the film captures a seemingly respectable but murderously cold, and hedonistic upper class household.

The Housemaid is based on KIM Ki Young’s 1960 classic film of the same title. However, Director IM Sang-soo (“A Good Lawyers Wife”) takes a greatly different and original approach toward the same story. An all star cast performs beautifully including Korea’s one and only JEON Do-youn (“Secret Sunshine”) and new superstar SEO Woo (“Paju”).
