“A high intensity gangster flick armed to the hilt with double-, triple- and quadruple-crossings between gangsters, moles and cops”
-Maggie Lee, Variety
Jae-ho, who aims to become the number one man in a Busan crime organisation, forms an alliance with Hyun-su in prison. The syndicate makes big money smuggling cocaine from Russia under the guise of a seafood import business and Jae-ho wants it all for himself under his control. Interweaving between the past and present, this high intensity gangster flick comes together like a jigsaw, each piece revealing more detail of a grand canvas full of risky shared secrets, fragile loyalties and Faustian bargains. In the process, the plot gradually gains in sophistication as initially sketchy characters acquire a little extra shading, and familiar tropes prove less predictable than they first appeared.
